Caritas Kenya Directorate Launched in Bungoma
Caritas Kenya has completed its change of name and structure from being a Social and Development Commission to a full fledged Directorate. In a ceremony held on Wednesday 7th November 2012 at St. Patrick’s Pastoral Centre, Kabula, in Bungoma, the Chief Guest, His Eminence John Cardinal Njue, unveiled the new Caritas Kenya identity and structure and cut a cake to commemorate the new milestone.
Addressing participants during the launch, Cardinal Njue said the directorate status will provide Caritas Kenya with a sense of direction that will support structured delivery and achievement of its roles and mandate. “The new Caritas Directorate calls for re-alignment and re-engineering of the whole institution to assume a national and international outlook that meets international standards,” said the Cardinal. “The quality management component shall be designed to infuse professionalism and enhance services to our partner Diocesan Caritas and the Catholic Church as a whole,” he added.
